We collect your personal information in order to provide you with the best possible service. We will not email you in the future unless you have given us your consent. You will be given the chance to unsubscribe from any marketing email from us in the future.

Making A Purchase

Browse our shop and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on ‘checkout’ and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. We only deliver to UK addresses.

When confirmation of the order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Payment

We accept Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards. Your order will only be processed subject to payment being authorised. Please note that the payment transaction will take place prior to delivery. Your payment will be taken by Actinic Payments.

Pricing

Every care has been taken to describe items accurately but occasionally slight variations in actual goods may occur. All prices are correct at the time of going to press and include VAT at the standard rate. We reserve the right to alter our prices should the VAT rate be changed. All prices are denominated in UK Pounds Sterling (£) and are inclusive of 20% VAT. There is no VAT charged on books.

Shipping rules for Nursery and Shop products

Order Cutoff Time: Mondays at 10:00 GMT

Order Handling Time: 0-6 days (Mon-Fri)

Transit Time: 1-3 days (Mon-Fri)

Due to the difference in products and the safe arrival of both Nursery products and shop products we have to ship Nursery products and Shop products separately. 

This is to ensure the condition of the products is kept at a high standard. 

Shipping shouldn't vary in delivery time and date too much from Nursery and Shop products but please be aware that they won't arrive together. 

We do not ship internationally. 

Your order will, wherever possible, be sent to you in one delivery. Delivery is calculated using the weight, size, and packaging costs of a particular product. All products are only available for purchase where delivery is to a UK address.

We aim to deliver your goods within 6 working days from receipt of your order (subject to stock availability). If an item is out of stock, we will advise you accordingly and provide an estimated delivery date.

We do not aim to make any profit on the postage costs.

Pricing for Nursery and Shop products

Please be aware that if you have a Nursery product in your checkout that the delivery charge will be a minimum of £10, this is because we require Next Day Delivery to allow the plants to arrive in good condition.

Final shipping cost is calculated at the checkout

Shipping for Plants

Plants are sent out once a week on Monday

Using a 24 hour courier service to ensure they do not sit in warehouses over the weekend. A signature is required on delivery. However, if you are unable to sign for the delivery and wish your parcel to be left in a safe place (garage/neighbour, etc.), please let us know. Please be aware that you do so at your own risk. Alternatively, if you wish your parcel to be sent to your business or other address where a signature can be obtained, you may fill in the relevant section on the order form.

We use recycled boxes and packaging as much as possible.

Returns Policy

If for any reason you are unhappy with your mail order purchase we will refund, exchange, or issue a credit note for any item provided you let us know within 14 days of receiving it as long as both the packaging and the goods remain intact and can be returned in the condition they were received in. You will then have a further 14 days to return the item. Return postage will only be refunded if the goods are faulty. We are also unable to refund the original postage paid unless the goods are faulty.

To make a return please carefully repackage and send the item(s) to Online Shop, Great Dixter, Northiam, Rye, East Sussex TN31 6PH. Please include your name, details of return or exchange, and Order ID.

Please ask for proof of postage from your post office. We cannot refund items lost or broken in transit.

Returns are dealt with as soon as they arrive; however, during busy periods please allow 14 days for your return or exchange to be processed.

Security Disclaimer

Online shop security is one of our highest priorities. We have devoted great care and effort to ensure that our online shop is as secure as possible and have installed the best security measures to safeguard your information.

Trade Description Act

Every care has been taken to ensure that the descriptions and specifications were correct at the time of going to press. All dimensions are approximate and while we make every effort to reproduce colour accurately there may be slight colour variations that occur during printing. Some of the products are natural and handmade and may vary slightly from the picture.

Contract Information

A contract will ONLY exist between you and Great Dixter House & Gardens for the purchase of any product(s) or service(s) when Great Dixter House & Gardens accepts your order. This acceptance will be in the form of an email confirming the details of your order and a link to an invoice. A second email will then be sent notifying you that your order has been dispatched.

General

These terms and conditions and all transactions relating to this website are governed by English law and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. We do not accept amendments to these terms and conditions.

Study Day Terms and Conditions

If for any reason you can’t attend you may transfer to a different Study Day providing there is availability and notice is given 30 days prior to the date of the original Study Day. Study Days bookings are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the business manager. In the event that a refund is given, we will still charge a £10 administrative fee.
