Boehmeria spicata
An extraordinary perennial foliage plant with medium sized, cylindrical, coarse textured velvety green nettle-like leaves. Sounds dull but is in fact one of the most talked about plants in the garden. Makes an arresting feature. Hardy and tolerant of sun as well as part shade. This variety has serrated foliage on blood red stems and small spikelets of pint flowers.
