Hardy annual with feathery dark green foliage and spires of double lilac flowers on wiry stems in summer. Good for cutting and drying. Sun or part shade and moist well-drained soil.

Sow onto moist compost in containers in spring or autumn at 15-20°c. Lightly cover seeds with a thin layer of fine grit. Prick out when large enough to handle.
