Hardy biennial with small purple or white flowers in spring followed by flat transparent seed pods, which can be dried for floral arrangements. Can self-sow, sun or part shade and moist well-drained soil.

Sow onto moist compost in containers in early to mid-summer at 20°c. Lightly cover seeds with a thin layer of fine grit. Prick out when large enough to handle.
