Hardy annual with pink to pale purple flowers in early summer, followed by large pepper pot seed heads. Can self-sow but colour may vary, best in sun and moist well-drained soil.

Surface sow in moist compost in containers in autumn or early spring. Lightly cover seeds with a thin layer of fine grit. Seedlings resent disturbance so prick out as soon as possible. Alternatively sow in situ.
