These extra fine stones which come from the Belgian Ardenne mountains are known for their ability to sharpen with a high level of precision, but without taking too much material away from the blade. They are perfect for reinstating an edge on good quality gardening knives and secateurs. The purpose of the slate layer is only to add strength to the stone.
Instructions:
Soak stone in water for 30 minutes before honing. Set the blade at a sharp angle onto the stone and pull back in a circular motion. Repeat. A fine paste will develop which helps sharpen the blade.
